White looking to rebound in Indy
CLERMONT, Ind. - After a supercharger drive belt ended their day early at their last event, NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Marc White and the Bars Leaks/Etterman Racing team will be looking to rebound during this weekend's Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at the famed Indianapolis Raceway Park. White and the team feel that the car is back running at it's potential, and good things may be in store for the team this weekend.
White, from Glendale Heights, Ill., cites that the car showed many promising signs at their last race in Joliet.
"We have a hot rod again," said White. "We ran a .68 on one pass lifting early and ran a 2.49 to 330' in the first round before it lost the belt, so the car is back running good. Hopefully this weekend the chips fall our way for a change and we can put this Bars Leaks car in the winner's circle."
White and team owners George and Jane Etterman feel that racing at national event tracks plays into the team's hand.
"We always enjoy running at the national event tracks," stated White. "Our tune-up has always done better on tracks where we could get after it, and this weekend should be no exception. The weather should be good, and more than likely it will take mid to low .60's to win this weekend."
Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars, with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
