LAS VEGAS, NV (October 23, 2001)– As Jerry Toliver and the WWF Racing team head for the Inaugural NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas, their hopes are about being the team that beats the odds.
With the right combination of a consistent tune-up, excellent driving on my part and a little luck, this team will be in the Winner’s Circle at The Strip.“ This team has been down a rocky path over the course of the season. It has to turn around at some point; and that point will be this weekend in Las Vegas,” said Toliver, driver of the WWF Get R.E.A.L Pontiac Firebird Funny Car. “ We may be down, but we definitely aren’t out.”
“ This is an excellent racetrack and we were pleased to see NHRA add another race in Las Vegas to the schedule during the 2001 season,” continued Toliver. “ Bruton Smith offers superb facilities; the Strip is another fine example.”
On Thursday, October 25, from 8-9:30 p.m. Toliver will participate in an autograph session hosted by The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at the ESPN Zone at the New York New York Hotel and Casino.
“ One of the thrills of being a professional driver is getting to meet all the NHRA fans, especially the young kids,” said Toliver. “ The Strip is offering NHRA drivers and teams the opportunity to meet and interact with fans, at the same time we are bringing more awareness to the public about the sport of drag racing.”
Toliver Racing is in its fourth season of competition in the NHRA Drag Racing Series. Toliver Racing has six wins to its credit as well as a third and fifth place finish in the 2000 season points championship. The Toliver Racing prepared WWF Get R.E.A.L Pontiac Firebird Funny Car will be driven by Jerry Toliver.
