Brogdon ready to parlay recent success at Vegas Nationals
(Houston, TX) Since the Mac Tools Nationals in Indy, Rodger Brogdon and the Charter Communications /Attitude Apparel team have started to see the results of their early season hard work begin to pay off. With round wins at four of the last five events the team now rolls into Las Vegas ready to parlay their late season momentum into a final round opportunity.
"With the success we've had of late I'm looking forward to Vegas," Brogdon quipped. "We've had some interesting times at the Vegas track, both with our Comp car and last year during our initial foray with our P/S Pontiac, and now that we've been able to get some round wins put together, Vegas should be an interesting race. Tommy (Utt) and the guys have the car making consistent laps and we'll have a fresh couple of engines from Cagnazzi's shop for the race in Vegas and the Finals in Pomona, so we should be good to go. Having the time off since Richmond has given us the needed opportunity to go through the car and trailer and get everything freshened up for these final two events. Running four races in a row like we just did really takes its toll on just about everything, so the time off to regroup has really been nice."
"Since Indy we've been able to run with pretty much everyone else in the field, well everyone except Mike Edwards, and I'm not too sure that anybody can run with him right now. But we've made some good progress with our program that's given us the ability to run mid-pack and that ability has given us our round wins. In Pro Stock these days if you can make the Sunday show, you have the chance of taking home the Wally. That was our goal at the start of the season and it remains our goal now."
"For 2010 this team will definitely be focused on winning, it'll just be nicer to be doing it from the start of the season and not starting five or six races late like we did this year," Rodger added. "There have been some rumors of late about our team for next year, and to that I'll tell you that the Charter Communications /Attitude Apparel team will definitely be back for 2010. We are currently exploring some opportunities that have presented themselves that would allow us to make some interesting changes, but we'll just wait to see how all of that plays out. Right now Vegas and then Pomona will be getting our complete and undivided attention."
For Rodger Brogdon and the Charter Communications / Attitude Apparel team the final eight rounds that remain in the 2009 Full Throttle Championship offer the opportunity to mix it up with the rest of the Pro Stock field a few more times in their pursuit of their first Pro Stock win. With the team's performance of late that opportunity isn't going to be taken lightly, and everyone on the team is focused on what lies ahead.
