* WILSON'S POKER RUN. Mopar-backed Pro Stock rookie Gene Wilson has had a notable run of success recently. The Canton, Ga., resident has driven to the finals in two of the last three NHRA national events. Wilson lost to Jeg Coughlin, Jr., in his first-career NHRA final at the Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park on Sept. 12. The 29-year-old driver then trekked to the finals of the most recent O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex, again falling short to Coughlin. During this stretch, Wilson also captured his first-career No. 1 qualifier at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill., on Sept. 28.

* WHEEL OF FORTUNE. Earlier this season, Darrell Alderman and his Hemi-powered Mopar Parts Dodge Neon R/T ran through the Las Vegas Pro Stock field before losing to Ron Krisher in the final. The three-time POWERade Pro Stock world champ had just come off his first victory of the season over Jeg Coughlin, Jr., in Gainesville, Fla. It was the first time since 1995 that Alderman had recorded seven-straight round victories during NHRA national event competition.

* SIGNING STARS. Mopar Pro Stock drivers Darrell Alderman and Gene Wilson will join a group of illustrious NHRA stars for autographs at the ESPN Zone on the famous strip in Las Vegas, Thursday night. The Zone, located in the New York, New York Casino, will host the session from 7-8 p.m., WST.
