Jeg looks to repeat in Vegas
Jeg and his yellow and black Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway as the defending event winner in Pro Stock.
The two-time NHRA Pro Stock champion currently sits in the No. 3 position in the NHRA POWERade championship. He has 1481 points and trails Kurt Johnson by 83 points or a little over four rounds.
"We are focused on finishing the season on a high note," stated Jeg. "We are within reach of taking over the No. 2 spot in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock championship. We need to stay focused and get a couple of breaks along the way."
The 33-year old 45-time NHRA national event winner has scored two wins in NHRA's most competitive professional class this season. He waited until the 15th event (Sonoma) on the season to capture his first win and followed up by winning the 20th event (Chicago 2) of the season. Jeg has also chalked up four runner up finishes so far this season in his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier.
"The guys in our engine shop have been working hard to give us the added horsepower that we need at the track," explained Jeg. "Our entire program is moving in the right direction. We would like to finish the season by scoring another win or two. I think we have great momentum as a team and we intend to keeping charging forward and carry it through the off-season."
