A Consistent Line Will Roll Off Fifth in Las Vegas

Despite having to wait for several hours due to multiple incidents in the nitro classes, Summit Racing driver Jason Line completed a solid qualifying effort on Saturday at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals. Improving with every pass, Line covered the quarter-mile in 6.664-seconds with a top speed of 207.30 mph on his final attempt to claim the fifth starting position for Sunday's final eliminations. Encouraged by his progress, he looked forward to challenging for his second career win at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"It wasn't really the day we had hoped for, but it certainly could have been much worse," said Line. "Although my Summit Racing Pontiac was pretty good, it isn't great yet. We're chipping away at it, and as hard as everyone on this KB Racing crew is working, I'm confident they'll get it. This is a tricky track to race on, and finding the right set-up can be pretty tough. Fortunately, we're getting better with every pass, so I think I will have a great race car. What we need to do now is make the most of it, and welcome Ken (team owner Black) back to the track in style."
