HERBERT PLANS TO PLAY SPOILER IN THE SNAP-ONFRANCHISE.COM DRAGSTER
LAS VEGAS (October 23, 2007) Doug Herbert's Snap-on Tools Top Fuel dragster will feature a special theme for this weekend's ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals.
Snap-onFranchise.com will be displayed predominantly on the 7,000 horsepower machine, encouraging race fans to learn more about one of the largest non-food franchise systems in the world that also sells the best tools in the world.
"We are really excited to have Snap-onFranchise.com on the car for the last two races of the year," said Herbert. "Snap-on not only makes the best tools, they also have the best opportunity out there for people looking to own their own business. I have met lots of franchisees through my years of working with Snap-on, and without fail, they talk about how great it is to be associated with such a good company. I feel the same!"
As proud as Herbert is to be showcasing Snap-onFranchise.com on the rail car as he navigates the quarter-mile, he would be even happier to see it featured in winner's circle.
"Our chance to win the championship is over," said Herbert, "but we plan on playing spoiler for these last two races and take home the fifth spot. We moved into sixth after we made it to the semifinals in Richmond, and we are going to keep on, keeping on.
"This track wasn't too good us in the spring, so we owe it one. We had a No. 1 qualifying effort here back in 2002. We'll see if we can have a repeat of that performance instead of the one we had in the spring.
"We have had a few weeks back at the shop to work on getting things ready to go fast, and the guys busted their tails making sure everything is just like it needs to be to get us qualified strong and take home a win.
"Celebrating with Jeff, Kai and all our other Snap-on folks with the Snap-onFranchise.com car in winner's circle would be a great way to wrap up our weekend in Vegas and head to Pomona for last race of the season."
