Herbert Suffers Disappointing Weekend in Vegas

This weekend, while competing at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Doug Herbert and the Snap-on team were unable to qualify their Top Fuel dragster and recorded their first DNQ of the season.

"This proves that you never know what's going to happen in drag racing," Herbert said. "The last two races our car ran so good, we were one of only three cars to go in the 3.70s at Richmond, but we came here and struggled so bad all weekend."

"It was disappointing," explained Herbert, who is now eighth in the Top Fuel point standings. "We worked on the car all day and found some issues. Over the next two weeks I know Keith [Stewart] and the guys will get all the bugs worked out. Hopefully we can go to Pomona and have some good luck, that's an important race to win."

The next event for the Snap-on team, the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, will close the 2008 season. The race takes place over four days, Nov. 13-16, from the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
