McClenathan enters eliminations 5th on qualifying ladder at Vegas.

LAS VEGAS (October 25, 2003) - Cory McClenathan, driver of the Darrell Gwynn-owned, NY Yankees/Berryman Products Top Fuel dragster, qualified No. 5 for the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Electing not to run the final qualifying session, McClenathan used a run of 4.545 seconds in Friday's second session to nail down a spot in the top half of the field.

"We feel our set up will carry over to tomorrow's eliminations," said McClenathan. "Now we need to go some rounds and protect our fifth position in the POWERade point standings. With luck and four consistent run we have the opportunity to have this NY Yankees/Berryman Products car in the winner's circle come Sunday."

In tomorrow's opening round, McClenathan will square off against the legendary Shirley Muldowney, who qualified 12th with a pass of 4.643 seconds at 318.02 mph. The pair has met once this season with Muldowney coming away with the win.
