LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Pre-Race) - Rodger Brogdon, driver of the CertainTeed Roofing Products Chevy S-10 Pro Stock Truck, is ready to take his chances at the 2nd Annual SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas, Nev. April 5-8.

"I am looking forward to going to Las Vegas," said Brogdon of Tomball, Texas. "I wish I was going tomorrow. After the last race in Houston, I feel pretty good about our chances in Las Vegas.

The O'Reilly Nationals in Houston, Texas was Brogdon's first appearance in the Pro Stock Truck class. Brogdon, who comes to Pro Stock Truck from the sportsman ranks, sat out the first two races of the year and waited to make his debut at his home racetrack in Houston.

Although Brogdon failed to qualify at his first race, he is not unhappy with his performance, and is enthusiastic about trying again in Las Vegas.

"I am pretty happy with the way we ran in Houston, but the weekend was kind of an emotional roller coaster for me. We went there thinking that we would not run very well. Then we surprised ourselves with how good we did run. We only missed the field by .040 of a second. Then watching the other guys race on Sunday was pretty rough on me. Really, I am nothing but happy about how the weekend turned out. For our first race, we have nothing to be ashamed of.

"I hear Las Vegas is pretty hard racetrack to tune for. The high altitude and dry weather is what makes it tricky. We will rely on Lump (Brian Self) and Jeff (Naiser) for help with the tune-up. Buddy (crew chief Buddy Nickens) has been there before so that should also help. We will just have to wait and see what we have when we get there.

"I am ready to get to Las Vegas and roll the dice and see what this CertainTeed Chevy S-10 has in it. I'm ready to go right now!"

Qualifying at the 2nd Annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals will take place on Friday April 6 and Saturday April 7. Eliminations get underway at 11:00 AM PST on Sunday April 8.
