LAS VEGAS - Federal Mogul Dragster driver, and B&J Transmission parts distributor, Mike Strasburg took his first win of the year during this weekend's Division 7 FMDRS at "The Strip" at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. B&J Federal Mogul Funny Car racer John Weaver took runner-up honors in his category.

In FMD, Strasburg qualified No. 3 in his Cornwell Tools sponsored entry with a 5.557 at 255.92 mph. In round one he squared off with veteran FMD driver, and B&J customer John Shoemaker. Strasburg took the victory with a 5.571 at 255.92 mph. In round two, Strasburg took out heavy hitter Darren Nicholson with a 5.526 at 256.65 mph, which was the quickest Blown Alcohol Dragster pass of the weekend, overshadowed only by Rick Henkelman's 5.485 in his A/Fuel Dragster. In the final, Strasburg cut a great .415 light, and streaked to victory over Duane Shields with a 5.602 at 254.38 mph.

In FMFC, Weaver qualified his "Dream Weaver" Camaro fifth with a 5.851 at 250.74 mph. In round one he took out Ed Marx with a holeshot 5.838 at 252.85 mph. In the semifinals, he put away supercharger guru Mert Littlefield with a 5.908 at 249.72 mph. In the final, Weaver came up short against Russ Parker's entry. Weaver encountered problems, and was forced to lift, giving the win to Parker.
