Sugar Hill, Ga., March 12, 2004 - ACDelco Pro Stock driver Kurt Johnson, who is coming off a very popular win at the Checker Schuck's Kragen NHRA Nationals, will be a featured guest on this weekend's edition of NHRA2Day.

Sunday's win, which was Johnson's second at Firebird Raceway, came in only his second race with his 2004 ACDelco Cavalier. Starting fifth, K.J. opened with an easy first-round victory, thanks to J.R. Carr's red-light. After edging his father, six-time Pro Stock champion Warren Johnson in the second round, Kurt squared off against rival and defending event winner Greg Anderson in the semi-finals.

In one of the most exciting races of the day, Johnson drilled Anderson at the starting line by nearly four hundredths of a second, and used a 6.850-second pass in the less-preferred right hand lane to defeat the 2003 Pro Stock titlist on a hole shot. K.J. then completed his drive to the winner's circle by eclipsing David Connolly in the championship round by eight ten-thousandths of a second.

This was Johnson's 28th national event win, and first of the 2004 season. He now stands second the 2004 POWERade point standings, only five behind leader Anderson.

NHRA2Day is ESPN's half-hour weekly magazine show chronicling the events of the world's fastest motorsport. Hosted by Bill Stephens, it brings viewers up-to-date on the latest news from the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), either from the site of that weekend's national event, or from the show's Charlotte, NC studios.

This weekend's show is scheduled to air at its normal time on Sunday morning from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon (ET) on ESPN2.
