Heartland Park Junior Drag Racers Set to Take on Best in the West

TOPEKA, Kansas -- Junior drag racers from four NHRA divisions are descending on Bandimere Speedway just outside Denver, Colo. this week for the 2004 O'Reilly Auto Parts Junior Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals. Racing is scheduled for Thursday, July 29 through Saturday, July 31.

Heartland Park Topeka will be well represented by 19 young men and women as they compete against over 600 other racers in eight age divisions. Racers will be gunning for bragging rights, close to $100,000 in savings bonds, a coveted NHRA Wally trophy, and a team championship.

Two teams will be representing Heartland Park Topeka at Bandimere Speedway. Team One includes: Korbynn Stallbaumer (Wakarusa, Kan.), Camrynn Stallbaumer (Wakarusa, Kan.), Landon Stallbaumer (Wakarusa, Kan.), Jordon Stallbaumer (Wakarusa, Kan.), Michelle Cobb (Odessa, Mo.), Bryant Stock (Wichita, Kan.), Randa Moody (Lincoln, Neb.), Alex Hefner (Topeka, Kan.), Jaclyn Hefner (Topeka, Kan.), and Steve Jo Clark (North Platte, Mo.).

Team Two includes: Chelsea Moore (Overbrook, Kan.), Bryce Christensen (Topeka, Kan.), Brianne Christensen (Topeka, Kan.), Tayler Crouse (Liberty, Mo.), Rhea Curran (McPherson, Kan.), Josh Peterson (Abilene, Kan.), Nick Peterson (Abilene, Kan.), Todd Piper (Wamego, Kan.), and Calvin McClure (Ottawa, Kan.).

Stock is returning to Colorado one year after placing second in the 10-year-old category, the highest finish of any Heartland Park Topeka racer in 2003.
