Troy Lands Shy Of The Cut

Troy Coughlin began the second day of qualifying looking to improve from the No. 16 position. Troy ran a 6.838 at 200.62 mph in the third session. The run put him in the No. 18 spot with one chance to break back into the field with his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier.

"We just need to make better runs in every session," said Troy.

In the final session Troy posted a run of 6.851 at 200.44 mph. The run put him in the No. 22 position.

"There is just absolutely zero room for error," commented Troy. "There were 37 drivers this weekend fighting over four qualifying sessions to be in top 16 qualifying positions. Pro Stock has quickly become a class where you can't make any mistakes. You have to make four solid runs in qualifying or you are playing with fire."
