TONY PEDREGON AND THE Q POWER RACE TEAM REACH QUARTERFINALS IN 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series

JOLIET, Ill. (June 12, 2006) -- Tony Pedregon and his Q Power Race Team reached the quarter-final round at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill, during the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals this past weekend in the NHRA Nitro Funny Car division, and remains solidly in fifth place in the 2006 point standings.

"It's unfortunate our Q Power car had ignition issues today which we didn't discover until after the first round of eliminations," explained Pedregon. "We certainly could have used the fourth qualifying session, which was rained out. That would have given us the opportunity to find that problem before Sunday's elimination rounds. Sometimes you can dyno all of the ignition parts, but nothing can put a load on them like an actual run. We are encouraged in that we know what the problem was and we can solve it for the next race. We were able to maintain fifth in the point standings - I'm sure we'll do much better in Englishtown."

In 2005, Tony Pedregon and the Q Power Race Team finished 7th in points with two wins, was #1 qualifier three times and recorded the second quickest elapsed time in NHRA history at 4.680 seconds in Chicago.
