WHAT:
The seventh annual NHRA Route 66 Nationals, the eighth of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Professional drivers compete in four categories earning points leading to 2004 NHRA POWERade championships.

Sportsman competitors in four categories earn points leading to 2004 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series championships.

WHERE:
Route 66 Raceway is located in Joliet, Ill. 30 miles southwest of Chicago on Route 53 (historic Route 66), approximately three miles south of the I-80 in Joliet. Take I-80 to exit #132A (Route 53 south) to the track.

WHEN:
Thursday through Sunday, May 20-23.

SCHEDULE:

THURSDAY, May 20 -- Sportsman qualifying and time trials, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

FRIDAY, May 21 -- Sportsman qualifying and eliminations, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 4 and 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, May 22 -- Sportsman eliminations, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 12:15 and 3 p.m. KING DEMON CROWN ELIMINATION ROUNDS at noon, 2:30 and 3:55 p.m.

SUNDAY, May 23 -- Pre-race ceremonies, 10 a.m. FINAL ELIMINATIONS begin at 11 a.m.

TELEVISION:
Saturday, May 22, ESPN2 will televise two hours of qualifying highlights at 7 p.m. (ET).

Sunday, May 23, ESPN2 will televise three hours of eliminations at 7 p.m. (ET).

Friday, May 21, 11-11:30 p.m. (ET) - Galaxy 11 / Transponder 12K (Downlink frequency, 11942 MHz, vertical)
