John and Mike Coughlin made strong runs during the opening session for the Pro Stock Truck class. The two yellow and black Chevy S-10's have really picked up their performance levels recently. John was in the No. 12 spot at the end of the session and Mike was on the outside looking in
During the second qualifying session one of the two Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10's improved over their prior qualifying time from the first session. John made the quicker run of the two and improved. John broke the beams with a 7.543 at 178.35 mph on the big end. Mike ran a slower off the pace run of 6.618 at 176.81 mph.
John and Mike Coughlin are sitting in the No. 15 and No. 16 positions respectfully after the first day of qualifying. Team Jeg's made an engine change after the second session data was reviewed by the team. The men in yellow and black are very optimistic about competing in the Holley Dominator Duel and improving the qualifying positions for both drivers on the final day of qualifying.
In the opening round of the Holley Pro Stock Truck Dominator Duel John and Mike will battle from the No. 5 and No. 8 positions. Mike will face off against Jeff Gracia, lane choice is will be with Gracia and the Panella Trucking GMC Sonoma. John and his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10 will go head-to-head with No. 1 qualifier. Bob Panella Jr will have lane choice.
"We are really looking forward to the Holley Dominator Duel. Everyone involved has done a great job over the 12-month season. Being a part of the Duel is real testament for you team and really rewards consistency," explained John.
"The is the second year that we have raced in this special event and race is only two years old. That says a lot about the hard work of your team. There is no room for error in Pro Stock Truck and that is what is so appealing," said Mike.
