TREBLE EAGER TO WIN CHICAGO RACE FOR HOME TEAM

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (June 3, 2010) - Craig Treble is eager to get back on the Valvoline Motorcycle Oils Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle for this weekend's 13th annual Route 66 NHRA Nationals and win it for the "home team." Team owner Don Schumacher lives in the Chicago area and a large crowd of DSR supporters and friends will be watching.

"We want to do well at this race," said Treble, who is sixth in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series point standings. "It's the home race for Don Schumacher, and it's kind of a home race for me as I grew up in the Northwest Indiana area, in Valparaiso.

"It's going to be a good weekend, I can feel it. Steve (Tartaglia, crew chief) has been on the dyno for the first time all year just working his butt off, trying to find some horsepower and have something for Route 66.

"He's been trying to get enough motors together and then doing the regular between-race maintenance stuff. We had some time off after the last race in Atlanta, so he's been beating the dyno pretty good."

As for his chances of winning his first race of the season for DSR: "I felt good at every race we entered this year, we just had some crazy stuff happen," said Treble, whose best result in five events was a semifinal finish in the season-opener in Gainesville, Fla. "And we lost another motor in Atlanta in, of all places, the water box. Luckily, it was in the water box and it didn't come apart going down the track.

"Steve was able to salvage quite a bit because It didn't hurt the cylinders or the head. We had to replace the crankshaft, the piston and a couple of valves. Other than that, we should be up and running in Chicago. Which Suzuki motor Steve goes with I have no idea. But, they're all stout."

Treble was runner-up at Route 66 Raceway in 2000 and 2008.
