JEG's Mail Order To Sponsor Popular NHRA SPORTSnationals Events In Ohio And Louisiana

GLENDORA, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2005) -- JEG'S Mail Order, a nationwide leader in sales and distribution of parts and supplies for the aftermarket performance industry, has signed a multi-year agreement with NHRA to become the title sponsor for both NHRA SPORTSnationals events.

The second annual JEG'S.com NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals will be held April 22-24 at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La. The inaugural JEG'S NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals will be held July 28-31 at National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio.

"JEG'S is excited to support both SPORTSnationals events," said Scott Woodruff, director of media and motorsports for JEG'S Mail Order. "We were at the event last year at No Problem Raceway and experienced firsthand the excitement from the racing community, track and the fans. It is a program that we are excited to help bring to the next level. We will be adding some new elements that should help make both events better for everyone involved."

The JEG'S NHRA SPORTSnationals are NHRA national events designed to showcase NHRA's sportsman categories exclusively. Competitors in Comp Eliminator, Stock, Super Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street will compete for more than $50,000 at each of the JEG'S NHRA SPORTSnationals events in 2005. NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national event points will be awarded to drivers in all categories except Super Street.

In addition, both JEG'S NHRA SPORTSnationals events will feature NHRA class eliminations, including a Super Stock Hemi Shootout, along with Pro Modified exhibition racing.

"The Coughlin family has such a rich and successful heritage in NHRA sportsman racing that it made perfect sense for their company, JEG'S Mail Order, to become the title sponsor for the NHRA SPORTSnationals," said Tom Compton, president, NHRA. "The NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals was such a tremendous success last year that by adding the support of JEG'S to both events in 2005 will definitely add significant value to the experience for the racers and fans."

The two event sponsorship commitments increase JEG'S Mail Order's presence in NHRA Championship Drag Racing. In addition to the sponsorship of the JEG'S NHRA SPORTSnationals, the company also sponsors the popular JEG'S Allstars at Route 66 Raceway near Chicago; the JEG'S Super Quick Series in NHRA Division 3; and provides primary sponsorship for a variety of race cars that compete in NHRA competition, including: the JEG'S Dodge Stratus R/T Pro Stock car driven by Jeg Coughlin in the NHRA POWERade Series, the JEG'S Ford Mustang driven by Troy Coughlin in NHRA Pro Mod exhibition racing, and the JEG'S Super Stock, Super Comp and Super Gas cars driven by Mike and John Coughlin in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. JEG'S also is a major NHRA contingency sponsor.

NHRA renewed the popular SPORTSnationals event last year after hosting the event from 1974-1986 at a trio of tracks, including Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky. (1974-'80; 1985-'86), the old Houston International Raceway (1981-'82) and Indianapolis Raceway Park (1982-'83).
