MITCHELL AND WILKERSON TAKE WINS IN PRO DURING VP FUELS E. T. BRACKET SERIES RACES AT IRP

INDIANAPOLIS (April 12, 2005) Defending Pro Champion, Jeremy Mitchell and Chris Wilkerson both took wins in the Spitzer Racing sponsored Pro class during two days of drag racing at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

On Saturday Wilkerson laid down a 7.057 second pass to Allyn Neff's losing 6.944 second run. On Sunday it was Mitchell leading the field with his run of 7.472 to Marty McKinney's 6.693 second run. Mitchell had a .004 reaction time to McKinney's .029.

On Saturday five points paying categories were contested during the day: Super Pro, Pro, Super Pro Bike, Sportsman and Junior Dragsters. Drivers who took home hardware were: Mike McKinney in Spitzer Racing sponsored Super Pro; Chris Wilkerson in the Automotion Race Cars sponsored Pro; Donnie Emerson in the United Construction Super Pro Bike category; Jim Barrett in the Racecraft Sportsman division; and Nick Finney in the Monday-Mart sponsored Junior Dragsters category.

During the day two non-points paying races were held. Mike Coyle won the IRP sponsored Trophy class. Mark Long won the MPH sponsored Quarter-Mile class. Jason Dorsett won the Best Package award with a .002 reaction time with a 6.55 dial and ran a 6.552 second pass, presented by Racecraft.

Jim Barrett won the Nosnhoj Enterprises award for the best reaction time of the day with a .004 time off the tree.

On Sunday the same five points paying categories were battled for during the day. Winning drivers were: Roger Bishop in Spitzer Racing sponsored Super Pro; Jeremy Mitchell in the Automotion Race Cars sponsored Pro; Ron Wheatley in the United Construction Super Pro Bike category; Brad Hertenstein in the Racecraft Sportsman division; and Matthew Murphy in the Monday-Mart sponsored Junior Dragsters category.

During the race two non-points paying races were held. Lisa Nordi won the IRP sponsored Trophy class. Aaron Vail won the MPH sponsored Quarter-Mile class. Cory Johnson won the Best Package award with a .002 reaction time with a 6.46 dial and ran a 6.462 second pass, presented by Racecraft.

Bud Simmons won the Nosnhoj Enterprises award for the best reaction time of the day with a .007 time off the tree.

The fourth round of the VP Fuels E. T. Bracket series event will be held on May 1st.
