Troy Coughlin Sits No. 6

Troy Coughlin started the biggest weekend in Drag Racing with a bang. He posted an impressive opening run of 6.833 at 201.79 mph in the bright yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier. The run was strong enough to put Troy in the No. 3 position.

"We made a strong run to start the weekend and that's always a good feeling," explained Troy. "It's a good thing not get behind the eight ball at Indy, especially when we lost one qualifying session due to rain yesterday."

In the second qualifying session of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals Troy laid down a 6.868 at 201.10 mph. The run was not an improvement and Troy slipped to the No. 6 spot.

"We got from A-to-B using more than 1320-feet," said Troy. "We were a little too aggressive down low and the car just took off to the left. We will be ready to go in the morning and work on getting this Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier in a better qualifying position."
