Troy is looking for more at Indy

Troy Coughlin is well aware of what it takes to win the biggest race in Drag Racing. Troy won the MAC Tools U.S. Nationals in 1991 when he competed in Super Gas. In fact, the win was the first NHRA national event of his career and the winner's circle picture sits proudly in his office as a daily reminder.

"You need to be prepared for the unexpected when it comes to Indy," explained Troy. "We have spent a lot of time in our shop in Delaware, Ohio preparing for the MAC Tools U.S. Nationals. The guys in the engine shop have been working nonstop on the dyno to find more power. We have looked over every square inch of the car and replaced anything that needed it."

Troy and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier are currently sitting in the No. 16 position in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock championship. He has 406 points and is 144 point out of the top-ten with seven races remaining.

"This is the biggest and longest event we have," said Troy. "We have five scheduled qualifying sessions over four days in Pro Stock and then you race. It is easy to wear yourself out, but you see the crowds and all of the excitement that surrounds this event and you get pretty pumped up."
