The NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series will be invading Indianapolis Raceway Park August 30-September 4 when the 46th Annual NHRA US Nationals begin. This race is considered to be the most prestigious race in Drag Racing.
JEG'S Mail Order Racing is NHRA's largest all-family professional race team. Jeg, Jr. and Troy Coughlin compete in Pro Stock. Brothers Mike and John race in NHRA's newest professional class Pro Stock Truck.
The four brothers own JEG'S Automotive, which is based in Columbus, Ohio. JEG'S is a mail order business that specializes in high performance accessories and parts worldwide. Their highly successful catalog is sent out bi-monthly to over 7,000,000 addresses and their Internet sales are growing by the day. The business is in its second generation and their father (Jeg Coughlin, Sr.) is the team advisor making their operation a family affair on and off of the track.
Jeg is leading the NHRA Winston points in Pro Stock. He has six wins and two runner up finish in the 16 races held so far this season. He has 1290 points and leads his closest competitor by 280 points (14 rounds). In addition, Jeg won the Holley Dominator Duel (which is an all-star race among eight elite Pro Stock drivers). In '92 Jeg won the US Nationals title in Super Gas.
Troy is currently No. 5 with 805 points in Pro Stock. He has two runner-up finishes under his belt so far this season. In addition, Troy was the winner of the 2nd Annual Winston Showdown and was the runner-up in the Pro Stock Holl ey Dominator Duel. Troy was the '91 US Nationals Super Gas Champion.
John is resting in the No. 4 spot with 538 points in Pro Stock Truck. John has one win this season and is a mere 7 points from taking over the No. 3 position in the points.
Mike is the defending US Nationals Champion in Pro Stock Truck. He is currently No. 10 and has 353 points. Mike can move as high as the No. 7 spot with a strong performance. He has one runner up finish so far this season.
