Troy Coughlin was the first of the two identical looking Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavaliers to take on the track in the first qualifying session. He was forced to shut off when the car launched and made some aggressive moves toward the center line in third gear.

"We were too aggressive and we got bit. Our group has been working hard in the engine shop and we are really looking forward to seeing the hard work pay off in the way of round wins on raceday here at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals," commented Troy.

Jeg Coughlin Jr. rolled his special edition Jeg's Mail Order Mac Tools paint scheme car out to the starting line with excitement. He darted off of the line and followed the groove from start to finish. Jeg recorded a 6.974 at 197.91 mph and it put him in the No. 17 position by the time the first session was completed.

"We got a little aggressive off of the starting line with our wheel speed. We know what we have to do and Team Jeg's will be ready for battle tomorrow," said Jeg.
