Jeg Coughlin is a three-time winner ('92, '00 & '02) of the biggest race in Drag Racing. The 33-year old second generation driver scored his first MAC Tools U.S. Nationals victory in 1992 when the rising star competed in Super Gas.

The two-time NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champion recorded wins in both 2000 and 2002 in NHRA's most competitive professional class. In fact, each year Jeg has won at the MAC Tools U.S. Nationals has been crowned the series champion in whatever class he won that season at Indy.

"To win at Indy is as special as it gets," explained Jeg. "This is the big one! This is the race of races in our sport. Winning the MAC Tools U.S. Nationals carries a lot of weight and everyone knows it. A team likes ourselves has had a great year so far and we are sitting third in the points right now and a win at Indy can certainly Band-Aide a lot of the woes we had at the beginning of the year."

Jeg and his familiar looking yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will return to the MAC Tools U.S. Nationals as the defending Pro Stock event winner. This year Coughlin will enter the event sitting in the No. 3 position in the NHRA POWERade championship with 1057 points.

"Our program has picked up some good momentum lately and that is important heading into any race - especially Indy," said Jeg. "We have been making advancements in our in-house engine program. Our on-track performance has been solid the last handful of races. All-in-all, we have a great team of dedicated individuals and that's what it takes to be successful at anything you do."

This season Jeg has visited the winner's circle once (Sonoma) with the JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier and has scored three runner up finishes (Gainesville, Chicago & Denver) in Pro Stock. The versatile driver has won 44 NHRA national events in his career. Jeg has brought home the "Wally" 32-times in Pro Stock, 1 in Competition Eliminator , 7 in Super Stock and 4 in Super Gas since he began racing in 1989. Jeg ranks 11th on the all-time win list for the NHRA and 3rd on the Pro Stock win list.
