Baytown, Texas - - In the opening round of eliminations at the NHRA O'Reilly Nationals presented by Pennzoil, Charlie Greco, from St. Davids, Penn., in a Jerry Haas prepared Chevy S-10, made a sharp move toward the wall and aborted the run ending all chance at a victory against Bob Panella, from Stockton, Calif.

"I'm just happy to have the opportunity to race on Sunday," said Greco. "Panella is a tough first round draw. He deserves it. He won the round. We left on him slightly and were still ahead at 60-feet. Unfortunately, just after that I went toward the wall. My Chevy S-10 made a violent move to the left. At that point, I decided to save parts and pieces since there was no chance to win. We were there early but the move to the wall changed all that. We'll now move on to Las Vegas."

Said team owner Jerry Haas, from Fenton, Mo., "We'll review everything and see what happen. Initially, it looked like the tire got exception grip and forced the Chevy S-10 to the left. It could have hit a bald spot on the track. Whatever the problem, we'll get it corrected prior to Vegas."

The next event on the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series for Pro Stock Trucks is the SummitRacing.com Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The event unfolds April 5-8.
