JEG'S Mail Order Racing Saturday Pit Notes
Jeg Coughlin/#2 Pro Stock:
"We have been hit and miss this weekend so far. However, we did learn something today that will help our performance. The team will use every bit of data that we have. We will talk through the setup of the car as a team and make a decision as a team," commented Coughlin. Jeg will begin the day tomorrow from the number nine position and will face off against Greg Anderson. Jeg has a great record here at Houston Raceway Park. He has been behind the wheel of a Pro Stock car three times and has two wins and a semifinal round appearance under his belt at this track. This driver will be on to keep your eye on when the race begins tomorrow.
Troy Coughlin/#24 Pro Stock:
This race has been filled with up's and down's for Troy. "This is my first DNQ of the year and I hope that we just got it out of the way for the season. The '99 NHRA Winston season is far from over and our goal remains the same; win the '99 NHRA Pro Stock Championship," said Troy.
Mike Coughlin/#28 Pro Stock Truck:
Mike started off the day with a bang. He faced '98 Pro Stock Truck Champion Larry Kopp in round one and put him on the sideline. In the second round the #28 JEG'S S-10 lined up next to Jeff Lukovich. Mike left the starting line first in both rounds and never looked back until taking the win light in both rounds. "We are off to a great start here at the O'Reilly Nationals and we look to continue tomorrow when we have the semifinal round," noted Mike. "My brother Jeg won his first NHRA national event in a pro class here at Houston Raceway Park. That's a tradition that I would like to keep going." Mike will run Mark Osborne when the semifinal round is run tomorrow.
