JEG'S Mail Order Racing Friday Pit Notes
Jeg Coughlin, Jr./#2 Pro Stock:
"We tried some new combinations during the first session and the JEG'S machine didn't respond how we thought that it would. After reviewing the data from the first run we went back to our old setup. We have a great baseline to work from and the team is really looking forward to tomorrow," noted Jeg. '98 NHRA "rookie of the year" currently resides in the number nine position after the second of four scheduled qualifying session.
Troy Coughlin/#24 Pro Stock:
The men in yellow and black were very busy between sessions today. The team made an engine change and replaced the ignition system in the car. "We felt like our best option was to replace the ignition box and put in a new engine between the frame rails," said Troy. The #16 position is where Troy is resting.
Mike Coughlin/#28 Pro Stock Truck:
Mike will face off against '98 Pro Stock Champion Larry Kopp. "We struggled a little this weekend. But the most important thing is that we are in the show with the yellow and black JEG'S S-10," stated Coughlin. Mike is currently number ten in the '99 NHRA Winston points chase, a strong finish tomorrow will change that.
John Coughlin/#31 Pro Stock Truck:
"We really had some bad luck this weekend with my truck. The guys worked really hard all weekend. The good news is that we found the problem that plagued us the first two sessions. We had a good baseline to work from after the third session and we improved in the last session. We just ran out of time," said John.
