HERBERT CONTINUES TESTING AT FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

With the sun setting in the beautiful desert sky at Firebird International Raceway, Doug Herbert took in the view from the seat of the Snap-On Tools Top Fuel dragster. The fourth day of testing came to a close with the best pass of the session, a quick 4.69 at 255.95 MPH with an early shut off.

The testing session began on Friday with three passes down the quarter mile, each of them bringing valuable information for crew chief Doug Kuch to use in his quest to prepare the car for the CarQuest Winternationals in Pomona. The first run of the day had better incremental times than any run in the 2006 season.

"I can't wait to finish up testing," said Herbert. "With all the information we have gathered over the past few days and what we will get with tomorrow's passes, Pomona looks very promising. We'd like to grab the Wally at the first race of the season."

An additional six passes took place between Saturday and Sunday. Continually impressive incremental times showed potential for solid 4.40 second passes, with the excitement building to the promising pass on Monday.

Doug and the Snap-On Tools team will continue testing on Tuesday, providing the anticipated rain does not fall. With the season beginning in just over a week, Doug and the Snap-On Tools Top Fuel dragster team are more primed than ever to get the season started.
