GOODYEAR-EQUIPPED RACERS WIN FIVE TIMES AT THUNDER VALLEY

BRISTOL, Tenn. (May 18, 2009) -- You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't pull the mask off the Lone Ranger and you don't try to beat Top Fuel drag racer Tony Schumacher at Bristol Dragway.

Schumacher led a contingent of five racers competing on Goodyear Eagle Dragway Specials to victory when he won the final round of Top Fuel in the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at the famous track.

Goodyear-shod cars won in the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series for professionals, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series for sportsman teams and in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge, winning five times in eight possible categories.

Schumacher's victory gave him three wins in 2009, three career wins at Bristol and 59 career wins overall. He beat Doug Kalitta in the final round and boosted his standing as the leader in the championship standings.

Del Worsham won his second straight race in Funny Car, knocking off Tony Pedregon in the final. Worsham is now second to Ron Capps in the standings.

Mike Edwards beat Greg Anderson in the Pro Stock final. The win was the second of the season for Edwards and his 17th career victory. Edwards moved to third in the standings, trailing defending champ Jeg Coughlin and Jason Line.

Edmund Richardson won a national event for the first time since 2002 when he took the Stock Eliminator victory. Richardson has 44 national wins.

Burton Auxier won in Pro Mod in his second consecutive trip to the final round.
