PRO STOCK TRUCK -- SEMIFINALS NOTE

JOHN LINGENFELTER, SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT CHEVY S-10, was defeated by Tim Freeman's Chevy S-10 in the semifinal of Pro Stock Truck eliminations today, losing to a holeshot advantage. John's e.t. was 7.879, 171.49 mph, Freeman's 7.900/170.90. Reaction times were .432 for Freeman, .474 for Lingenfelter.

LINGENFELTER: "I got out of the groove, that's what beat me. He had a better light. We had enough power. But just looking at the 330-ft. number and judging where Jerry's (Haas) truck was at that point, we were quicker than Jerry's truck at 330 feet and that's where I got out of the groove. Jerry did a 7.83, we probably would have done a 7.82, and I needed to do an .85 to win. The S-10 got loose. You can feel it move around, it's just like someone grabs a hold of your belt and pulls you sideways. We made really good progress this weekend, found a lot of things we can improve. I'm real happy with the way a lot of things went." DOES IT FRUSTRATE YOU TO KEEP GETTING BEAT BY THOSE JENKINS ENGINES? "No. We outran them, so the fact that I was beat by a Jenkins engine doesn't mean anything. We qualified quicker than they did, we had low e.t. in every round so far, so there's no reason to be frustrated."
