JEG'S Mail Order Racing Saturday Pit Notes
Mike Coughlin/#28 Pro Stock Truck:
In the first round Mike took out David Spitzer with a 7.658 -vs- 7.680. The #28 JEG'S mail Order S-10 than advanced to round two where he faced off against Mark Osborne who was the number one qualifier. Mike left the line first (.409 -vs- .456). He than ran into problems went he went through the clutch. "Our team is really coming together and we are making performance advancement with every trip down the track. We will now focus on the next task at hand, the race in Houston," said Mike.
John Coughlin/#31 Pro Stock Truck:
After a disappointing DNQ at the Pro Stock Truck opener in Pomona John came to the MacTools Gatornationals looking to rebound. He started from the number eleven position. John faced John Lingenfelter in round one. Both trucks left together. Problems started for Coughlin when his S-10 started to spin, that opened the door for Lingenfelter's win. "My number one goal was to make the show here at the MacTools Gatornationals. Our program is very strong and we will be a force to deal with when we pull through the gates at the next race in Houston," stated John.
Jeg Coughlin/#2 Pro Stock:
Jeg will start race day from the number six position and will face off against Ray Franks. "We learned a little bit more about what the #2 JEG'S Mail Order car liked today. We made small advances today in the set-up area, which should help our performance on Sunday," commmented Jeg.
Troy Coughlin/#24 Pro Stock:
"We really ran into some bad luck this weekend. I had problems three out of the four runs. However, the team pulled together made the right calls and the #24 JEG'S Olds Cutlass is in the show," says Troy. Troy will begin his day from the number fourteen spot. Troy will line up next to Mark Pawuk in the battle of the mail order companies, the classic JEG'S -vs Summit battle. Troy is the only driver to be in both final rounds of the '99 NHRA season.
