GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Pre-race) - The 32nd Annual Mac Tools Gatornationals will be contested this weekend in Gainesville, Fla. Greg Stanfield and Bart Price drivers of the DBP Enterprises Chevrolet S-10 Pro Stock Trucks, are on a mission this weekend. Their mission is to finally see the inside of the Gatornationals winner's circle.

At last years Gatornationals Stanfield went to the final round of eliminations where he was paired against Randy Daniels. Stanfield had the advantage at the starting line, but Daniels edged him out on the top end to take the victory, and preventing Stanfield from making his first trip to the Gatornationals winner's circle.

"In Gainesville I think Randy Daniels will be the man to beat again this year," said Stanfield of Bossier City, La. "Last year I lost to him in the final. I had him welded on the tree, but then I got loose on the top end and he caught me at the finish line. I would really like a repeat of that final round this year, because I think the outcome will be different this time."

With six weeks in-between the first race of the season in Pomona, and the Gatornationals, Stanfield and Team DBP have been hard at work looking for that slight advantage that may make a difference for them at this years Gators.

"Since we got back we from Pomona we have been working on finding more horsepower; not that we were down on horsepower in Pomona. It is just that there are going to be a lot of guys gunning for us in Gainesville, and I know they have all been working since the last race too. So, we have to be prepared for them to have picked up also.

"In this class if you get behind, you are going on the trailer Saturday night. We are not going home Saturday night. We are on a mission to get to the final again, and hopefully this time the outcome will be different."

Bart Price is the owner of the DBP Enterprises Pro Stock Truck team and driver of the teams second truck, Price comes to Gainesville with a second agenda in mind for Team DBP.

"I think we can do well in Gainesville this year if we stay consistent," said Price of Hayward, Calif. "We should have done better there last year, but I think we just shot ourselves in the foot. This year we are coming to Florida more prepared than last year. Actually, more prepared than we have ever been.

"I am amazed by how much time Greg (Stanfield) and the guys at the shop have put in over the winter, and since Pomona, working on our trucks. They have worked hard on making both trucks the same, and eliminating the variables. I think some of our problem last year was the variables would come around and bite us when we were not looking causing us to be inconsistent. We have taken steps to eliminate the variables.

"Last year we also seemed to have problems on raceday. We seemed to have the qualifying down, but on raceday we would make mistakes. Since before the end of last season we have concentrated on how we race on Sunday. We looked at what our problems where on raceday and made changes. Because of those changes I think that now things runs smoother on Sunday, and as a result, I think that we race better now.

"What it all boils down to is consistency. Consistency in our equipment and consistency in ourselves, that is what is going to make the difference this weekend and for the rest of the season.

"At Gainesville, as the team owner, I would like to see both trucks qualified in the top half of the field. As a driver, I would like go a couple rounds on Sunday. I do not think that is an unrealistic goal for me or this team.

"What I would really like to see is Greg get another shot at the winning this thing. I think if we stick to our game plan, and remain consistent, Team DBP has a real good chance a pulling off a victory this weekend."

Qualifying at the 32nd Annual Mac Tools Gatornationals begins on Friday March 16, and continues on Sat. March 17. Eliminations will take place at 11:00 AM EST on Sunday March 18.
