Erica Enders Englishtown Saturday Report

Consistent Enders has designs on going rounds in E-town

After making four fast, consistent runs in Pro Stock qualifying for the 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, ZaZa Energy driver Erica Enders is confident of going deep in Sunday's eliminations.

And maybe all the way to the winner's circle.

Enders earned the No. 3 qualifying spot and will face V Gaines in the first round Sunday. Her qualifying time was 6.510 seconds at 211.93 mph, which she posted in Friday night's second round. She was fast in the three other rounds, too.

"The important thing on Sundays is always consistency," Enders said. "The fact that all four of our runs were pretty decent and all grouped together makes me excited for tomorrow. We're on the top half of the bracket, and that's good. It's nice to be back in the top half."

Her other three runs were: 6.566 at 211.49 mph, 6.536 at 211.93 mph, and 6.523 at 211.86 mph.

"Consistency will pay off on Sunday," Enders said. "If we can go make four runs tomorrow like we did this weekend, and I drive well, there's no reason why we can't win this race."

Enders was in the top half of the field in all four sessions in her Cagnazzi Racing Chevrolet.

"That's very important," Enders said. "You've got to be fast relative to the field. You can't be all over the place. We laid down those runs, and it maintained in the top few positions of each session. That's very important. We're excited. We're happy."
