ENGLISHTOWN NJ - SUMMIT FastNews - 10:45 AM New day, same story. It's raining. It';s been raining. It's going to continue to rain. We're now half an hour past the scheduled start time for the first round of Super Gas eliminations and the only activity on the track is some lost soul in a Suzuki SUV.

The weather forecast is for continued drizzle through today, tonight, and Sunday morning. The predicted highs for this weekend have gone from the low seventies a couple days ago to the mid-fifties in the most recent forecasts.

The rain actually stopped about 9:30 AM and the track drying process started shortly after, but the rain returned about 45 minutes later and has been a steady drizzle since then.

NHRA officials haven't made any decisions yet regarding schedule revisions, but the choices now appear to be limited to whether to try to get the event in this weekend or to come back and try again in a few weeks.

We'll let you know what happens as soon as the situation changes.
