Greg Anderson topped the fastest Pro Stock field in NHRA history, winning the final round in the Matco Tools Super Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in New Jersey. Anderson beat Jeg Coughlin in the championship round.

Goodyear teams won six classes at the New Jersey race, bringing the tiremaker's industry leading seasonal total to 48.

Warren Johnson won the $50,000 Pro Stock Challenge, beating Mike Edwards. It was the third time Johnson has won the Pro Stock Challenge.

Excellent atmospheric and track conditions made for some great racing. Kenny Bernstein beat Larry Dixon in the Top Fuel final. Bernstein had the lowest elapsed time of the event, 4.542 seconds. Dixon had the best speed of the meet, 326.48 mph.

Gary Densham won the Funny Car final round, beating Bruce Sarver. Densham leads the Funny Car points for the first time in his career.

Sam Biondo beat Steve Sweitzer to win the final round of Super Stock, Biondo's first career victory. Tim Northrop beat Rob Slavinski to win in Competition Eliminator and Donald Sabin beat David Terrizzi for the Super Stock victory.
