The Bounty Hunter seeks victory at Englishtown
Mac Tools celebrates Connie Kalitta'S induction into International Drag Racing Hall Of Fame.
Columbus, OH, May 14, 2002 -- The special edition Mac ToolsTM Bounty Hunter Top Fuel Dragster returns to the NHRA determined to capture victory in Englishtown, NJ on May 17 -- 19.
In honor of Connie Kalitta being inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame, Mac Tools and Kalitta Motorsports are running the Mac ToolsTM Bounty Hunter Top Fuel Dragster that features the paint scheme that Connie ran on his 1971 funny car. This particular paint scheme was chosen because it was one of Connie's favorite cars that he had tremendous success with.
"We are really excited about running the special Mac Tools Bounty Hunter car at Englishtown," said Doug Kalitta, driver of the Mac Tools Top Fuel Dragster. "The fans there are very hardcore and they have supported Connie very well through the years so it will be nice to give something back to them."
This special edition car debuted at the 33rd Annual Mac ToolsTM Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. and will make its final appearance this weekend in Englishtown, NJ.
"After the past couple of races, our Mac Tools car has been showing a positive response to our revised tune-up," said Co-Crew Chief Jim Oberhofer. "If cool conditions invade Englishtown, we can show all the Bounty Hunter fans what our Mac Tools dragster is made of."
To commemorate this special occasion and the Mac ToolsTM Bounty Hunter paint scheme, Mac Tools has partnered with Action Racing Collectibles to offer a 1:24 scale Mac ToolsTM Bounty Hunter die cast collectible. The collectible car will be available through your local Mac Tools distributor or on line at www.mactools.com. To locate the Mac Tools distributor nearest you, please call 800-MAC-TOOL.
