HERBERT HEADS TO ENGLISHTOWN ON A MISSION

Englishtown, N.J. (June 20, 2007) When Doug Herbert, driver of the Snap-on Tools Top Fuel dragster, arrives at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park for the ProCare Rx NHRA SuperNationals, he will arrive as a man on a mission: a mission to win rounds, win the race and gain ground in the new Countdown to the Championship.

Eight races remain to determine which eight Top Fuel teams will battle for the Championship. Six of these eight races will occur back to back over the next six weeks. This grueling stretch begins this weekend in Englishtown, NJ, moves to Norwalk, Ohio, Bristol, Tenn., Denver, Seattle, and caps off in Sonoma, Calif. This six week grind will be critical in determining who will move on to fight for the Championship.

A mere 85 points from the coveted eighth position, Herbert and the Snap-on Tools team know how vital each round during this six week stretch is in their mission to make the next segment of the Countdown to the Championship.

Coming off a semifinal appearance in Chicago, Herbert looks forward to kicking off this six week marathon with a strong showing in Englishtown.

"We had a good race in Chicago," said Herbert. "We were consistent during qualifying, went rounds and made it to the semifinals. The next six weeks will be tough, but we plan to get off to a good start this weekend.

"We were the runner-up at this race in '99. I know the track is usually fast, and it looks like the weather will be in our favor.

"The guys have been working really hard, and it shows in our performance. We are headed into Englishtown knowing we can win, and plan to start proving it on Friday."
