After sweeping Top Fuel and Funny Car titles last weekend at Sonoma, Calif., Don Schumacher Racing again is on a 300-mph march after earning provisional poles Friday in each of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series premier categories in the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways near Seattle.

Ron Capps leads the Funny Cars after his NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Charger R/T completed the 1,000-foot course in 4.119 seconds at 298.47 mph to outdistance teammate Jack Beckman's 4.121 (302.82) in the Schumacher Electric Battery Extender/Valvoline Dodge.

The remaining Don Schumacher Racing Funny Cars of Johnny Gray and Matt Hagan are fourth and fifth, respectively.

In Top Fuel, FRAM/Prestone's Spencer Massey and DSR teammate Tony Schumacher in the U.S. Army dragster each recorded elapsed times of 3.837 seconds in the second qualifying session, but Massey's speed of 319.60 mph on the run was 1.58 mph faster and that gave Massey the temporary No. 1 qualifying spot with two more sessions on Saturday heading to championship eliminations scheduled to begin 11 a.m. Sunday.

Massey earned three bonus points for qualifying and regained the points lead from teammate Antron Brown, who is in the No. 5 qualifying position. Massey and Brown, each of whom has won four titles through 14 events this season, shared the points lead when they arrived at Pacific Raceways.
