Team Jeg's ready for return to Bandimere.
Team Jeg's drivers Jeg and Troy Coughlin eagerly anticipate a return to the high altitudes of Denver Colorado. Both drivers have shared much success on the side of the mountain at Bandimere Speedway including the first "all Jeg's" pro stock final in 1999. Jeg Coughlin enters the race as the current track record holder as well as the most recent national event winner in the ultra competitive POWERade Pro Stock class.
"Obviously it feels great to carry the momentum of the win in St. Louis into the west coast swing," said Jeg. "Denver has traditionally been a strong track for Team Jeg's. You really have to be on your game to be fast in Denver. If our performance in testing is any indication of what we can do this coming weekend, we should be right in the hunt for another victory for Team Jeg's."
Troy Coughlin was also present for some pre race testing at Bandimere. The 2002 Topeka Champion is equally optimistic about his chances in the Mile High Nationals as well.
"I'm pretty excited about returning to Bandimere," explained Troy. "We learned some things in testing that should help out a bunch when we begin qualifying this Friday. We are at a pretty crucial point in the season. A strong showing on the west coast swing can pay big dividends in the season long POWERade points chase. "We would like nothing more than to start the swing off with a victory for Team Jeg's."
Pro Stock qualifying for the Mopar Parts Mile High Nationals begins Friday, July 19 with two qualifying sessions. Televised coverage of Friday's qualifying session can be found on ESPN Saturday, July 20 7-9 PM (ET).
