HOT ROD FULLER FINISHES NINTH FRIDAY AT DENVER

MORRISON, Colo. (July 23, 2010) - "Hot Rod" Fuller, a seven-time NHRA Top Fuel winner, drove his Abu Dhabi/Yas Marina Circuit dragster to the provisional No. 9 qualifying position Friday evening at Bandimere Speedway near Denver.

Fuller, who made his 2010 NHRA debut last weekend at Sonoma, Calif., opened qualifying at the 31st annual Mile-High Nationals with a lap of 4.801 seconds at 160.44 mph after losing traction on the hot Bandimere Speedway track. That placed him 11th in the 16-car order. On Friday's second qualifying attempt, the 2007 Denver Top Fuel winner posted a slightly quicker pass of 4.113 at 280.66 mph to finish ninth after the opening day of qualifying for the 31st annual Mile-High Nationals.

"It's tough racing up here with this altitude," Fuller said. "You saw a lot of cars struggle with the heat and conditions. The track will get better and I think you'll see a lot of movement on Saturday. It's supposed to cool off, so I expect us to run much better on Saturday and get into the top half of the field."
