Taylor looking to hit jackpot in Vegas

LAS VEGAS - NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Dennis Taylor will be looking to duplicate the traditional Vegas recipe for success; a hot hand with a little bit of luck. Taylor and the Cooner Wire backed team have done just about everything except win an event this year, including qualifying No. 1, setting low e.t. and a runner-up. At the final Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event of the year this weekend at 'The Strip' at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the team hopes to put it all together for a win.

Taylor, who runs his racing safety equipment company, Taylor Motorsports Products in Anaheim, Calif., hopes the team will be able to improve on what they learned the last time they were in Vegas.

"We've been running good all year, we just haven't been able to get a win," said Taylor. "Randy Goodwin and the team really have the car running well. Randy is bringing his own car back out in Pomona, so Ora Vasquez will start to get involved this weekend. We were right on the edge of running very strong here at the national, so hopefully we can go from there and improve this weekend. We really want a win before the end of the season."

Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars with one qualifying session, with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
