Dallas, Texas (Nov. 3) -It was another damp and dismal day at the 15th Annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals. Due to the heavy rain which fell throughout the day and a forecast for more of the same tomorrow, officials of the National Hot Rod Association were forced to set the Pro Stock Truck field according to the points standings (just like NASCAR).

When racing finally gets under way at the Texas Motorplex, Mark Whisnant, driver of the RW Performance Chevrolet S-10 will assume the 12th position on the eliminations ladder. Whisnant will be paired against Steve Johns in Round 1 of eliminations.

"I am glad to be in the 12th spot," said Whisnant. "It sure is better than being in the 17th spot. I am just glad to have a chance to race.

"I would really like to see them get this race off, because I need the points going into Pomona. Our goal for a while now has been to get into the top ten by the end of the year. Without being able to earn points here it could be very tough for us in Pomona.

"They are calling for heavy rain for the next couple days. If this keeps up they will not be able to run eliminations tomorrow. I guess we will just have to wait and see what the rain does. We came here to race, and that's what we want to do."

Weather permitting, eliminations will get under way at 11:00 AM CST on Saturday Nov. 4.
