Tommy Johnson Jr. Expecting Another Solid Showing in Dallas

Dallas, Tex., September 19, 2007 -- Skoal Racing's Funny Car driver Tommy Johnson Jr. anticipates a second consecutive positive performance after posting a semifinal finish at the Mid-South Nationals in Memphis last week. Johnson and crew are heading to Dallas this weekend for the 2007 O'Reilly Fall Nationals.

After seeding in the third position (highest spot since Sonoma in July), Johnson outperformed top drivers Kenny Bernstein and Ron Capps in the opening rounds. He was then bested by eventual track champion Gary Scelzi in the semifinal round.

"After going to the semifinals in Memphis, I'm excited to race this weekend in Dallas," said Johnson. "We've been testing some new things and I like what I see with the results. The car's performance really came around and I think we can build on that this weekend."

Johnson has experienced some success in Dallas posting two semifinal finishes in 2002 and 2006. He was runner-up to John Force in 1999, which was, at the time, the quickest side-by-side pass in Funny Car history.

Johnson added, "I've raced in Dallas for so many years and have some great memories from this track. With its all-concrete surface, it has always yielded great performances."
