Jeg Coughlin is ready for race day.
Jeg Coughlin continued to show strength through the second and final day of qualifying. He rattled off runs of 6.879 and 6.896 during the last two qualifying sessions.
"We were the second quickest car in three of the four qualifying sessions and eighth in one of the sessions. The momentum is with our team and we just need to do the best job that we can as a group to keep it," explained Jeg
Race day conditions are expected to change drastically over what the factory hot rod teams have experienced so far this weekend at the Texas Motorplex. A front will move into the area and air temperature is forecasted to drop to the low 60's with strong winds.
"We have been keeping a close eye on the weather expecting the change. We have a set up that we will use tomorrow that we have spent time preparing for all weekend. The Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will be fresh and ready for battle when the sun comes up on Sunday," said Jeg.
Jeg Coughlin entered the O'Reilly Fall NHRA Nationals with a 65 point lead over his closest competitor. He knows the importance of every point with only three races remaining on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing schedule. The team is focused and ready for battle.
Jeg Coughlin qualified in the No. 2 position in his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier. He will face off against George Marnell in the opening round.
Troy Coughlin was unable to break into the field through qualifying. He ended the weekend in the No. 23 position with a weekend best run of 6.901. The bump end up to be 6.891 seconds.
"We made some moves in the right direction and we will focus on getting ready for the next race in Las Vegas," commented Troy.
