Team Jeg's Is Ready For Action In Texas

Round 3:

John Coughlin entered the third round of qualifying with his back against the wall. It was the first pass of the weekend for John in his yellow and black Jeg's Mail Order S-10. Team Jeg's shipped a fresh engine to the track from their shop in Delaware, Ohio to put between the frame rails of the Chevrolet Pro Stock Truck. The team elected to forego the first two qualifying sessions to prepare the new power plant for battle in one of the series most competitive classes. John's first pass with the new engine was a good one. John ran a 7.48 second pass at 179.8 mph.

"The first run of the day was strong from start to finish," said John. "The new engine performed well, but I think there's a lot more left in it. We didn't want to lean on it too hard its first time down the track."

Mike Coughlin continued to run strong in his Jeg's Mail Order Chevrolet S-10. Mike ran a consistent 7.48 second pass at 180.2 mph.

"We had a good solid run in the heat of the day," said Mike. "We were comfortable with are position in the field so we started to work on our race set up."

Round 4:

After four rounds of qualifying, John and Mike Coughlin were both qualified for the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex. Both Pro Stock Trucks made solid runs in Saturday's final qualifying session. John ran a 7.49 second pass at 180.7 mph in his S-10 Chevrolet.

"We were fortunate to make two solid runs today," said John. "We should be ready to go for tomorrow."

Mike Coughlin continued his string of strong performances with an e.t. of 7.49 seconds at 180.5 mph.

"My Jeg's truck has really performed well today," said Mike. "Hopefully we can capitalize on the consistency that we have found during elimination's tomorrow."

Mike Coughlin qualified in the No. 7 position. Mike will run Todd Patterson in the first round Sunday morning. John Coughlin qualified in the No. 12 spot. He will face off against Greg Stanfield in the first round of the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals.
