ENNIS - Super Comp Accidents Two Separate Accidents During First Round by Larry Sullivan ENNIS, Texas - SUMMIT FastNews - John Spar, Chatsworth, Calif., was apparently uninjured in an accident during the first round of eliminations for Super Comp at the 13th annual NHRA Revell Nationals. Spar, driving the B&M dragster, lost control near the finish line and made contact with both walls after earning the win light at a speed of over 175 mph. Spar exited the car under his own power and was examined at the track. He was transported to the Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie as a precaution. Shortly after, James Paul, Fort Worth, Texas, and Jason Rodgers, Center, Texas, were apparently uninjured when Rodgers lost control of his '86 Capri near mid-track, crossing the centerline and colliding with Paul's '23 Dodge roadster. Both drivers got out of their cars under their own power and were examined at the track. Paul was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Ennis as a precaution, while Rodgers was released at the track.
