FULLER FLIES HOLT CAT CAR TO NO. 4 SPOT AT DALLAS

ENNIS, Texas (Sept. 22, 2007) -- Rod Fuller qualified his HOLT CAT dragster fourth for the third time this season Saturday afternoon at Texas Motorplex. The five-time NHRA winner clocked a qualifying-best run of 4.552-seconds to finish fourth in the 16-car order.

Fuller entered the final day of qualifying for the 22nd annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals fourth in the 16-car order after carding a pass of 4.552 seconds at 324.83 mph on Friday evening. The Las Vegas racer used a tune-up from crew chief Rob Flynn to cruise the HOLT CAT rail down the hot Texas Motorplex quarter mile in 4.638 seconds at 322.58 mph to remain fourth in the Top Fuel order. On his final attempt of the weekend, Fuller blasted to a consistent run of 4.664 at 322.43. The track temperature was 122 degrees entering the final qualifying session. It is the 16th time in 20 races that Fuller has qualified fourth or better this season.

"We made four really consistent runs and the car was never in trouble of smoking the tires," Fuller said. "We feel comfortable going into eliminations. Sunday is like going into a final round. If you're a fan, you can't ask for more than to watch the two top guys go after it. It's like Indy, we can race someone in the Countdown at each round and I like to being able to control our own destiny."

Fuller will face off against No. 13 qualifier Tony Schumacher when final eliminations begin at 11 a.m. (CT) on Sunday at Texas Motorplex. Fuller is 0-2 against Schumacher this season. It will be a battle between the first and second ranked drivers in the Countdown to the Four standings. Schumacher leads Fuller by 15 points entering Sunday's final eliminations.
