FULLER QUALIFIES HOLT CAT DRAGSTER NINTH AT DALLAS

ENNIS, Texas (Sept. 20, 2008) -- Hot Rod Fuller drove his David Powers-owned HOLT CAT dragster to the No. 9 qualifying position Saturday afternoon at Texas Motorplex with an elapsed time of 3.896-seconds.

Fuller entered the final day of qualifying for the 23rd annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals in the No. 9 qualifying spot after running 3.896 seconds at 308.50 mph on Friday afternoon at Texas Motorplex. Fuller raced the HOLT CAT car to a pass of 4.179 at 228.92 on Saturday's first attempt. Fuller's Caterpillar-backed rail lost traction down track on its final attempt and posted a pass of 4.149 at 215.24. He remained in the No. 9 qualifying position for the fifth time in his career.

"We're hoping for a little deje vu," Fuller joked. "We beat that (U.S.) Army car in the first round last year and that's our plan on Sunday. We're the last car to beat them way back at Norwalk (Ohio), so why not end this awesome streak they're on? I know our CAT team has what it takes and we want to do it for HOLT and get it done on Sunday."

Fuller will face off against rival Tony Schumacher in the first round of Top Fuel eliminations at 11 a.m. (ET) on Sunday. Fuller defeated Schumacher in the opening round at the O'Reilly Fall Nationals last September. Fuller is 2-5 against the five-time Top Fuel champion this season. Fuller is looking to earn his 110th career round win on Sunday.
