HERBERT'S SNAP-ON TOOLS TEAM MUST WAIT FOR TEXAS RACE DUE TO WEATHER

LINCOLNTON, N.C. (September 21, 2005) -- The NHRA announced today that this weekend's O'Reilly Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex has been postponed until Oct. 6-9 due of weather.

Qualifying was scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, but predicted weather patterns show Hurricane Rita storming into Texas throughout the race weekend.

Herbert is anxious to race, but he's also pleased he can battle the race track in two weeks instead of fighting the weather this weekend.

"I was really looking forward to driving this weekend because our entire team is doing such a great job and they give me a real competitive car every round," Herbert said. "Especially when you are running well, like we have lately, you want to get to the next track as soon as possible. But I am glad that we aren't going to sit around in the rain. I would rather start fresh with a weekend that doesn't have a hurricane looming in."

Qualifying will be held at 4:30 and 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 before continuing Saturday, Oct. 8 with sessions at noon and 3 p.m. before final eliminations fire up at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9.

"I am just ready for the last four races and I think the entire team agrees," Herbert said. "We haven't won a race yet this season, but I think we are finally now in the position to take home that trophy. We'll just have to get the team back to the shop, work on the car some more and then head to Chicago next weekend.

"Who knows? The weekend off might be exactly what we need to ensure that we are prepared for the last four races of the season."

ESPN2 will air all the action from the Motorplex. A revised television schedule will be announced soon.
